CARNIVAL IS COMING!!!

Carnivals consist of games, rides, shows, feasting, and overall merriment, which developed from the traditional outdoor festivals of Europe in honor of seasonal changes or religious holidays that date back hundreds of years ago.
A famous American carnival is the Mardi Gras, which is held in late winter in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was introduced to America on March 3, 1699 by French explorer, Iberville.

Games you play at a fair or carnival also go by the slang name, “joints”.

ISN'T IT CUTE?

By Daniel Sanz.

EVERYTHING FOR TEENS

EVERYTHING FOR TEENAGERS
Hello my friends!
This post is dedicated to these students who are in exam time (personally, I think that this time is all the time!) Apart from this,we want to say  that if we are here, it is because we have already finished for now.

I hope you'll pass all your exams, but everyone knows it’s necessary to study.

In our blog, you can publish comments like the jokes from some teacher in the exams ( this theorem can’t be in the exams, ZAS! First question, "this theorem", thanks teacher J) or in class ( I know that your Geography teacher is very funny! Tell us why he is so.) Also, students of Latin and Greek, we know that you have a lot of exams in a short time, here, you can leave your stress. This won’t help you to pass your exams, but it´s probable that you will  feel better (sometimes, hitting strongly the keyboard is funny and makes people feel more relaxed) here, you can do it but be careful because it’s important that you don’t break it.We need to add posts.

EXCURSIONS!
And remember, we also organize day trips.
This month, the trip will be to the mountains, where you can do many activities such as skiing, horseback riding, canoeing. The tour will last from Friday to Sunday and we will  sleep in a wonderful mountain lodge. So you know, if you need a relaxing weekend in your stressed life as a teenager, you cannot miss this fantastic tour!
And don´t forget to visit the blog because every month we'll have different excursions.
Don´t worry, be happy! :D

TOPICS FOR A WEEK.
Hello guys! Welcome to another topic for a week, today the topic is: Anorexia in young people.
Well, nowadays young people, more young girls than boys have problems about eating, with anorexia.
Many youngsters when asked about  anorexia, will answer that this issue is not very important but they think like that because they don't know the consequences of this illness.
One person with anorexia could die! But young people would never think about it. Why are you going to die because you are anorexic? noo, of course not! But YES. It's a very important illness.
The people who have this illness nowadays don't think that they are sick, they only say that they are fat, and the only thing they want is to be thin. If you ask them, they will say that they are fat, although they aren't, and you can insist, you can tell them that they are OK, they aren't fat, but all you say isn’t going to affect them,
And this is very dangerous and important, and because of that, we, the healthy people, must help them and make them see their problem.

Furthermore, in our blog we have received a lot of emails with another teenager issue: the sexual problems
A lot of teens have told us that they don’t know how to work out many problems; for example an anonymous boy told me that after making love with his girlfriend he saw that the condom was broken. I advised him to go to buy a "day after pill".
Moreover, we frequently read that many girls are pregnant, erection problems and a lot of stupid questions too.
In spite of all, I advice every teen to tell someone their problem and  don’t forget that  there are always solutions and in the worst case, parents will always help.
This is all from our sex-problems section.

VALENTINE'S DAY

Valentine's Day, is an annual commemoration held on February 14 to celebrate love and affection between the members of a couple.

While sending cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts is traditional in the UK, Valentine's Day has various regional customs.
In Norfolk, a character called 'Jack' Valentine knocks on the back door of houses leaving sweets and presents for children.
In Saudi Arabia, in 2002 and 2008, religious police banned the sale of all Valentine's Day items, telling shop workers to remove any red items, as the day is considered a Christian holiday. In 2008 this ban created a black market of roses and wrapping paper.
In Wales, many people celebrate Dydd Santes Dwynwen (St Dwynwen's Day) on January 25 instead of (or as well as) Valentine's Day.
In Spain Valentine's Day is known as "San Valentín" and is celebrated the same way as in the UK.
Japan launched a successful campaign to make March 14 a "reply day", where men are expected to return the favour to those who gave them chocolates on Valentine's Day, calling it White Day for the color of the chocolates offered; and the same way in South Corea where the women give chocolates to men in Valentine’s day.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!

BBOYING

Break Dancing - Battle of the year.

The bboying appeared in the mid-1970s in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Bronx, because of the musical hits of James Brown. In a party, the DJ Kool Herc, seeing people became excited when they heard the breaks (parts of a song whithout lyrics) of James Brown's songs, use two disks of the same album to play only these breaks all the time.
The most enthusiastic dancers started to dancing in the floor, making spins on their backs, heads, elbows, knees, etc. This kind of dance was called bboying (or breakdance, but this is the comercial name used by the media) because dancers used the “breaks” of the song to dance, and dancers were called bboys (break boys). The residents of this neighborhoods, were more time in parties dancing and enjoying music than on the streets.

Later, the DJ Afrika Bambaataa, inspired by DJ Kool Herc, became famous in the Bronx, and years later, around the world. He noticed the change that music, dance, and painting were causing to the youths in his neighborhood. These elements (music, dance, and painting) were an alternative escape way to gangs, drugs and bad life so sadly common in poor neighborhoods like the Bronx orBrooklyn. Hence the fast expansion among youth from different districts. In an attempt to define what was happening in his own neighborhood, Afrika Bambaataa decided to give the name of HipHop to this new movement, which included dance (Hustle, Lyndi Hop, Up-rocking, Bboying...), music (salsa, funk, rap,...) and painting (aerosol, bombing, murals, political graffitti,...). Years later, KRS One (also from the Bronx) attempted unify all elements of HipHop into four groups: Djing, Mcing, Graffiti and Bboying. It was a new culture with very different roots and everyone was welcome. Its only rule: "Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun".

Four basic elements form the foundation of breaking. The first is Toprock, a term referring to the upright dancing and shuffles. The second element is Downrock or Footworks which refers to dancing performed on the floor. The third element is the Freeze, the poses that breakers throw into their dance sets to add punctuation to certain beats and end their routines. The fourth element is the Power Moves. These are the most impressive acrobatic movements normally made up of circular motions where the dancer will spin on the floor or in the air.

In 1977, the group Rock Steady Crew (RSC) was formed. They were one of the groups that popularized the Bboying worldwide thanks to its appearance in several films and her performance at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984.

Some known bboys are Crazy Legs (RSC) or Bboy Crazy Smooth (Breaks Kru).
